4th of July Tags for Goodie Bags

Pin It Now! Just a quick share tonight.  I'm getting ready for a birthday / Independence Day party at my house tomorrow, and needed some patriotic tags for goodie bags for the kids!

I stuffed them full of candy and firecrackers (the cheesy kind!). Oh, and Minion glasses. This is going to be fun!

Minecraft Birthday Card In A Box - 13th Birthday!

Pin It Now! Want to see something cool I made for my 13 y.o. son's best friend's 13th birthday?   A Minecraft card-in-a-box!

My son LOVED it!  I simply found images online that I liked, resized them to work together, and hand cut each one.  The bricks were a challenge, I had to layer them row by row!  Added a "13" to Steve's shirt!

Added some birthday stamps from Starburst Sayings. 

Folded flat to fit in a standard envelope...

And the backside for the birthday message.  The sentiment here is long retired. 

This was a stretch in my style, but so fun and worth the smiles it got.   Thankfully, I saved the digi files for the Minecraft portion of this card, so I can make more if I get the urge!

Paper Pumpkin Love Notes Kit January 2014 - My Take!

Pin It Now! I wanted to share what I did with January's My Paper Pumpkin Kit.  This package includes reversible cardstock - kraft on one side, Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay on reverse.  Here's the kit, right out of the box:

And here are my finished projects.  They went a long way!

I got February's kit in the mail yesterday, and it's AWESOME.  Gift bags to personalize!  Tons of ribbon, circle stamps, and round die cuts to layer.  I see a banner in my near future~

Geek Love Valentines - My Sons' Projects

Pin It Now! I'm a homeschool mom of two boys, (almost) 10 and 13 years old.  So when it came to Valentine cards they said, "Yes" but "only if they're cool".  These are the cards we came up with for the homeschool group party!

This is CJ's card.  He wanted I LIKE YOU, not LOVE.  So we went with this simple card front.
- Starburst Sayings bundle (stamp, circle die)
- On Film Framelits Die (arrow)
- Chevron embossing and ribbon

The cool part is the inside...a 3D pop up heart!

Ryan is my crafty guy.  He's the one that always finds me when I sneak off to my room.  He wanted a card that would showcase his Perler Bead creations - these cool little hearts that he made all on his own!

So I used January's Paper Pumpkin Kit!  I cut the cards up into colorful little 2.75" squares and embellished them with the die cuts and stamps included in the kit. 

I love the input I got from the guys.  They'll be proud to give them out.  They're not too sappy, but they're homemade and definitely from the heart.

Lil' Raccoon Punch Art Birthday Card

Pin It Now! Here's a cutie that I put together for my nephew's birthday, who is an avid raccoon hunter as of late.  Seems we have an abundance of these little guys around here. Including on my craft room desk!

Don't worry, this one's pretty tame. I created him using a couple of others for inspiration, THIS ONE by Rachel Ricks, and THIS VIDEO by Kimberly Morris.  Added my own flair and a little chevron tail. 

He's holding his own little birthday greeting, and his hands are punched from the Artisan Label Punch used for the Label Love greeting, cut on an angle.  I just love his bright, "cutie eyes", as my son calls them!

I only made one small mistake...I angled his chevron tail out too far, and he wouldn't quite fit in the envelope. So I simply slit a hole in it to let it poke out!  It was a hand delivered card, so you can imagine everyone guessing what was in it, and the curious looks at the party!

Have Yourself A Geeky Little Christmas {CAS Card}

Pin It Now! Here's a card that's fun for the kiddos.  My boys put together a bunch and have already handed them all out!

They're plastic perler bead Christmas trees hot glued to Wild Wasabi & Real Red cardstock.  if you have kids 10 and under, chances are you have a bin full of these in your craft bin.  Kids, especially boys, are very into pixellated graphics thanks to the Minecraft phenomenon.  So these graphic looking designs are much appreciated among their circuit.

When is the last time you've seen one of these Dymo Label Makers?!  Still works like a charm, and is still trendy on a scrapbook page.

You could easily swap out the plastic beads for buttons or small circle punches (like a hole punch size) to make these also.  I think it's important to keep the kids interested in our craft, so even the most simplistic card is a little work of art that puts a smile on everyone's face.

Cute Carrot Treat for the Kiddies

Pin It Now! Here's one craft I had the 2nd graders make at their Easter Party today.



Just a cute little sugar cone carrot in a pastry bag, wrapped in Pumpkin Pie DSP and tied off with dotted scallop ribbon and curls of organza ribbon.




On a few, I added a punched pennant with a Happy Easter banner from Heaven Blessed.



I also included a little printable of the jellybean Easter story, which describes the religious meanings behind all the colors of the beans.

A Monstrously Fun Project!

The fun goes on at Ustamp With Dawn and Friends!!

My second project debuted today, and a had a monstrously good time making this set of Cards With Cool Moves.  Here's the set:

 This project is called Make-A-Monster Bash.  Each card does something fun for the kiddos, but the center card deserves a closer peek!  It's a sliding google eyeball...

...that rotates 'round and 'round while the little monsters play catch with it!  It has bling for stars, and little 3D planet and moon!  AND it's an easel card with a super cool birthday theme.  I made this with my little boys in mind and they went over HUGE :D.

The project also includes a Peek-A-Boo Frames card, where behind each window is an unexpected party guest!

The last card is a cutaway card with a pennant banner. The aliens have crazy google eyes, and you open the card to reveal the rest of their cute little mutant bodies!

Finally, a BONUS gift box, with a funky eyeball border.

CUTE CHOCOLATE CRITTER!

This simple little project is ideal for papercrafters of any age. My 7 year old Ryan made one last night and was so tickled with himself! I have to admit, it tickles me too! You can't see because of the bow, but there are little white teeth cut from a scalloped circle punch! Thanks to simplysimplestampin for some cute ideas.
