Pin It Now! It's about time for creating Valentines!  Love the soft pink and blue of Blushing Bride & Soft Sky.  Using the latest sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments, here's my first Valentine of 2016 :D  But scroll all the way down, there are 2 cards for this sketch!

Get Well Soup HSS220

Pin It Now! Keepin' it simple with a big, easy stamp on a clean background today.  Get Well Soup is an excellent stand-alone stamp!  For the latest color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments, I added a strip of black striped paper, sponged with Daffodil Delight, and cut away a small portion of the card front so it shows inside and out.  Used an Aqua Painter to color the teacup, and sponged Tangerine Tango on a heart die cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.
I fussy cut the teacup and popped it up, as well as the glimmer heart.  My Sahara Sand marker was used to add some shading. Finally, the metallic thread wrap with an antique brad.
What do you think of this color combo?  Come on over to HSS and play along, I'd love to see what you do!
Have a blessed & creative day! ~ Erika

My first Card-In-A-Box! With retiring stamp set Tag It.

Pin It Now! I've seen so many beautiful versions of this seemingly complicated Card In A Box lately, and finally gave it a try!  After watching a video tutorial by Angie at MyChicNScratch, it looked a whole lot less intimidating. I pretty much CASEd her cute version of a box of balloons, changing out the papers and sentiments. This will go out to my dear friends grandfather, who will undergo brain surgery this week.

I added an extra punch balloon to the underside of one of the flaps to decorate the closed backside.
Isn't that little iguana from Tag It cute?!  It is soon to retire, and we'll be introduced to a new Ronald McDonald House fundraising set.
I like this type of card for hospital patients, as it will sit upright at a bedside table and not fall over. I have a feeling ill be making lots of these!

Diamond Flip Flop Get Well Card - Tag It

Pin It Now! I needed a Get Well card for my cousin this week, and wanted it to be something she could display and enjoy in her hospital room, so I made a fancy "Diamond Flip" fold and decked it out in this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge color combo.  Major pretty colors!
The colors are perfect for a girl!

This flip flop technique was highlighted in the last round of Ustamp With Dawn and Friends, Cards with Cool Moves.  I love my UStamp catalog...I can always find a Wow technique to practice!
Here, you can see how it opens. I stamped some Delicate Doilies inside to carry the doily theme through.
And from behind ;)
Feel like making something pretty in the midst of fall / Thanksgiving / Christmas cards?  Check out Hand Stamped Sentiments' color challenge this week!
I'm also playing along with Friday Mashup this week...Chevrons!  Love 'em!
Have a blessed and creative day!  ~Erika

Summer Smooches Joy Fold Card

Pin It Now! Here's a bright, pretty card I offered at my Stampin' Buffet yesterday, with a matching Petite Purse, all from the new Summer Smooches collection.

I love the special fold of this card, it looks very "wow" without any fuss. Perfect for beginner cardmaking.  You can see a tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers here.  You can see another sample that inspired this card here on Jennifer Timko's blog.

Lots of these were made at the party yesterday, and the matching purses make a great gift topper!

Get Well, My Friend! {sneak peeks}

Pin It Now! Now that Christmas is over, I find myself wandering aimlessly through Craftland.  No more gifts to make? Christmas cards in red, green, Pool Party? Punched gift tags? *sigh*

Okay, okay! Four months of Christmas projects are enough, I hear you.
On to the Spring Occasions Mini and Sale-A-Bration peeks, then!

Here's a sweet little Get Well card I made with a shabby chic theme in mind. I adore the new DSP available in the new mini, this one is from Attic Boutique. Just the right amount of vintage, but with some gorgeous brights mixed in...my fave Pool Party, super bright Poppy Parade, and Daffodil Delight to get you in the mood for that Spring thaw.

I used the new Framelits Labels dies as a backdrop for the teacups (Tea Shoppe). Double stamped the center teacup and popped it out, then filled it with pansies from the same collection. They're watercolored with Stampin' Write Markers onto Watercolor Paper. This allows me to play around with the blending and fussy-cutting, since this paper is thick and pliable. I painted the edges of the flowers with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (a must have), as well as detail on the outer teacups. I stamped and cut three sets of the pansy stamp, cut and layered them into a pretty bouquet. Should lift the spirits of the recipient!
Each layer is Distressed, Sponged, Spritzed, and Rolled.
Finished off with a double layer of ribbon, and a Mini Vintage Tag stamped with the word "friend" from Tea Shoppe.

I used these two wonderful challenges as a springboard for my card...
