Celebrate! With Birthday Wishes HSS218

Pin It Now! I'm working my way through my new supplies, and it's taking a while, since I have had so little time to do crafty things lately.  Late summer brings veggie canning, outdoor projects, and back to school prep!

I've been looking forward to using this fun set, Birthday Wishes!  It's a photopolymer set, which means layering couldn't be easier!  So, using our latest color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments, here's a cake that's cute as can be!
The colors:
I love the colors!  They're great for guys or girls.
And how about that metallic thread? And the corrugated paper! The little details make all the difference.  I think it'll be SO cool when the birthday person sees the little golden sparkle on this card.
Inside, one of the cake layers is stamped with the included sentiment in Pool Party.
Have a blessed and creative day!  ~erika

INK: Tangerine Tango, Lost Lagoon, Basic Black, Pool Party

Six Sided Sampler for a Sweet Friend

Pin It Now! Hey there, popping in to share the card I made for our latest sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments! It's been a really crazy week...had wisdom teeth pulled, sent kids off to camp, and finally, my kitty, Skittles, passed away today. Poor baby, she was blind, deaf, and so very weak.  So something as simple as making a card was as welcome as an old friend.

I used Six Sided Sampler, which I've had for a long time, but rarely use.  I love how easy it was to put this card together with this pretty stamp set!  Just pick a color scheme, stamp, punch, and arrange.  The only tricky part was not repeating patterns or colors too closely.
The sketch!
To finish, it didn't need much.  A die cut butterfly and some strips of ribbon.
Hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and play along!  I'd love to see you there!

A Stamp Rewind for My Anniversary

Pin It Now! You hoard retired stamp sets like me, don't you? I'm not alone here?!  As a demo, I find myself trying to use the current sets because, of course, they're fresh and new. But for my 15th Anniversary this week, I found myself at a loss for a perfect stamp. But looking around my room, I saw that I had amazing stamps...they're everywhere!

This was more or less the sketch from last week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments, and I CASE'd the style of Diana Eichfeld with her pretty challenge winner

My husband collects clocks, so the cuckoo clock from Forever Young was perfect. And "Love always" was layered from a retired Valentine set, Affection Collection. I used an interesting die cut that complemented the shaped of the clock, and added woodgrain embossing.

I think what he said was, "Wow, baby, you really did a nice job!"  :D I get that a lot. Haha.

So, pull out those old stamp sets, blow off the dust, and ink them up!

SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Forever Young, Affection Collection (both retired)
INK: Blackberry Bliss, Gold Stampin' Emboss, Versamark,
PAPER: Blackberry Bliss, Brushed Gold, Watercolor paper
EMBELLISHMENTS: Gold Sequin Trim, Apothecary Labels Thinlits dies, 2-1/2" circle punch, Mossy Measow striped satin ribbon, Naturals button, corner round punch, Woodgrain embossing folder

Butterfly Basics Birthday HSSSC206

Pin It Now! I thoroughly enjoyed myself making today's card!  I love layers, and these are subtle, but there are plenty of them.
The sentiment panel is made up of several stamps from Butterfly Basics, then spritzed, then pierced with the coordinating piercing template.  The butterfly is a leftover wax paper layer that I used so that all the little bits don't stick in the thinlit!  I love how it's so very thin and translucent, but doesn't add bulk. I also added a sponged layer of roses stenciled with a paper laser cut sheet from this spring's Artisan Embellishment Kit.
The sketch we are offering at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week is a great one.
Inside, just a couple of DSP strips to complement the front.
SUPPLIES:
STAMPS: Butterfly Basics
INK: Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Blushing Bride, Lost Lagoon, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White Craft
PAPER: All Abloom DSP Stack, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
EMBELLISHMENTS: Artisan Embellishment Kit Spring 2015 (pearl),

Clean and Quick Thank You Notes with Simply Wonderful.

Pin It Now! Happy Day to you!  I'm passing the time today watching the snow from my craft room window and looking for a little card challenge for a little fun.  I found Can You Case It and they're looking for a 10 minute card.

Here's my 10 minute card...
And this one took about 20.
I CASE'd inspiration from the latest Stampin' Success magazine.  I always read it from cover to cover and try to glean lots of inspiration.
Check out all the great samples at CYCI by clicking on their graphic.
I was happy to use a little of my Stacked with Love DSP even though Valentine's Day is behind us. I plan to use it up!  These TY's are for my son to give for birthday gifts he received, so they're a bit on the masculine side - he turned 14 :D.

More than Butterfly Basics HSSCC205

Pin It Now! Butterflies on a greeting card are always a good idea. They are ethereal, beautiful, miraculous, and delicate.

Butterfly Basics is the prettiest set out there now, and the matching Framelits make a pretty card light work!

Here, I have created my thank you card, borrowing the ink resist idea from Breelin, and CASEing the sketch from the Spring Occasions Mini pg. 27.  The colors for the challenge stumped me a little, because I don't have the Birthday Bash DSP that contains these colors.  So, I showcased each color on a die cut butterfly with Irresistably Yours DSP, sponging each one in a different color, and letting the emboss resist pattern do it's trick!  I like the way it turned out!
A couple of embellishments from the Artisan Embellishment kit anchors the center butterfly, and the "thank you" from Lotus Blossom is stamped on a tag die cut from the Curvy Keepsakes Box.  I wish I was one of those people that could stick to one stamp set, and not be allllll over the place with supplies.  But...I guess, if you got 'em, use 'em!

Inside...
My card is oversized at 4" x 6-1/2", so I handmade an envelope with the punch board.  Easy peasy, and how cute!

Hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and give this combo a try...I'd love to see what you're up to!

Have a blessed and creative day ~ Erika

Santa Stache with a Simple Sketch

Pin It Now! Love my Santa Stache!  This is a too-cute set that's easy to color and packs a punch.  The coordinating Framelits moustache makes it way cuter!
We have a great, simple sketch at HSS for the next two weeks.  Use it to get started on Christmas cards!  I followed the sketch exactly and I love the results. Clean, bright, and symmetrical.
A right jolly old elf, eh?  Love the Blendabilities to color him with. This is a great stamp to try them out with. Not much coloring, so what you do really stands out.  I used the Cherry Cobbler set and the skin tone assortment.
Swing on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and give this sketch a try!  I can't wait to see what you do!

Happy Halloween with Holiday Home

Pin It Now!
I was finding myself short-handed on Halloween cards to mail out this week, so I made up a batch of these clean and simple cards with the Holiday Home bundle.
The house was heat embossed with Smoky Slate powder, die cut with the coordinating Framelit, and then I also die cut the white cardstock and inlaid the house so that it's flat on the card.  I think it looks more CAS this way, and the stars add texture.

Isn't that spider web cute?

The "Happy Halloween: sentiment is cut from one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits, and cut about 2/3 up.
That orange ribbon? It's very retired Sycamore Street from a past Sale-A-Bration. Using the stash!
Have a blessed and creative day! ~ Erika

For All Things

Pin It Now! Today, I'm giving thanks for this sweet new stamp set, and an hour to play with it.

I love stamping scattered leaves!  I never get tired of a nice autumn set.

The sentiment is die cut with Chalk Talk Framelits, and backed with a couple of punches cut in half.

And check out that acorn wooden embellishment! I painted it with some old Smooches I keep close by. It's super sweet plain, too.
Inside, a little extra stampiness.

I was inspired by the color combo of this beautiful dish from the VIETRI site, found on the Saturday inspiration challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. Cute!

Have a blessed and creative day!

Batty Punch Art Circle Flip Card - Halloween!

Pin It Now! A fun idea that I discovered from last year on Pinterest from Susan Campfield.  My layout is updated a bit with current supplies from the catalog and the Holiday Mini 2014...new DSP, the cute Lucky Stars embossing folder, and tiny bats from Holiday Home.

Check out this wide eyed punch art bat!
Peek-A-Boo!
The bat wings are made with the smallest butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, and the silver Glimmer bat punch is retired.

I like this little ticket (That's the Ticket stamp set)!  I found it by accident rummaging for Halloween themed stamps :). The Blackberry Bliss ticket is stamped with Hardwood, and sponged around the edges. The bat (Owl Punch) hangs off the edge of my Hello Honey moon, and a flurry of bats fly off into the night (Holiday Home). On the flip side, a Halloween greeting, and more bats!
Have a blessed and creative day! ~ Erika

Happily Haunted House!

Pin It Now! Here's a cute little haunted house, complete with batty chimney and a ghost coming through the walls!
The color combo is a fun one from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I used coordinating strips of patterned paper at 3/4" and 1/2" by 1-1/2" and pulled them all together with a black satin ribbon.  The house is colored with the same combo.  I love this stamp set!  There are so many little details you can add to the house.  Here, I've spooked it out with the Halloween stamps - ghost, tree, bats, and that tiny spider web in the corner of the door.  Such fun to build a scene!
A little close up of the house. I keep a curved mask of paper in the stamp box to make grassy hills out of with a sponge wedge.  I outlined the house lightly with pencil after die cutting it with the matching framelit to place the bats, ghost, and tree correctly.  Then simply erased the lines and popped the house up with Dimensionals!

Check out this sweet stamp set for all the wonderful ways you can dress up the houses!

World Card Making Day! White on white card for a friend.

Pin It Now! Happy WCMD!   This one is for you!  I hope you're going to take some time out for yourself to make something that warms your heart.  There truly is nothing quite like a handmade greeting. Your expression and effort is appreciated, and hey, it makes you feel good!
I've done a lot of white on white for this card, and was inspired by this photo on Splitcoast Stampers for their Saturday challenge.  Who wouldn't be inspired by this, really?
I picked up this lovely fabric on my trip to Ireland last month. It was from a sweet little shop in Derry in the Crafter's Village...right up my alley! Here's a look at it...

I'm tearing it into ribbon strips to make knots and flowers for my cards. It really makes me happy :)
Don't know if you can see it, but I used the smallest oval punch to cut notches in the sides of the front panel to hold the ribbon in place.
I'm loving the iridescent shine in the vintage button.
My layout was inspired by this sketch from Case This Sketch.
Have a perfectly wonderful WCMD!  Blessings, ~erika

Double Christmas Challenge - Circle Thinlits Flip Card

Pin It Now!
Hey crafty friend!  I'm popping in today with a little Christmas cheer!  Here's a flip card using SU's Circle Thinlits, with the twist of a festive banner on the inside.
I've extended the card with an extra flap, and when opened...
Out stretches a starry ornament banner!
The flip side of the circle is vellum embossed with Lucky Stars embossing folder.  The glue dots are strategically placed to be covered by sequins.
A little ribbon to finish the front.  It also makes it easy to tuck the circle and hold the card closed.
I'm playing along with these two Christmas challenges!  Please visit them for some jolly inspiration! Click on the pics to open their pages...

Sorry for the screenshot here...you get the picture :D
Have a wonderful week! I hope it's crisp and cool and sunny at your house, too!
